Therefore, in this regard, the further expansion of the national infrastructure in the key areas connecting the roads on the East-West and North-South corridors has been identified as important task.
In particular, the OJSC “Transport and Logistics Center of Turkmenistan”, is working hard to increase the flow of transit containers from Turkey and Georgia to Afghanistan in the direction of Lapis Lazuli. In the future, it is planned to transport cargo in containers up to 5,000 tons per month.
Another important thing to note is that on June 10-12, 2021, the rapidly decomposing cargo was successfully transported by railroads in special reefer, through the Turkmenbashi International Seaport to the Uzbekistan and Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. For the first time, these special freezing containers containing of meat products have been passed through the country. The complex envisages further expansion of the number of cargo transported by reefers in the future.
